About
About Us
We are a fellowship that came together to worship for the first time on Sunday, September 5, 2010, at the Hampton Inn Hotel in Gloucester, Virginia. There were 26 people present at that worship service. For seven years, we’ve worshipped and praised God under the leadership of Pastor Leonard Edloe, who had served many of us as our pastor for 13 years prior. When the hotel room was not available, we worshipped at the home of Deacons Donald and Gloria Burnett, Beaver Dam Park, and the Vietnam Veterans Center.
During those years, we learned how to love God and one another more and we put our pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters and dollars together because we believed that God would provide us with a church home. During our Exodus journey (time at the Hampton Inn), travelers from all over worshipped and blessed us (often commenting on how they felt the love of God). We were blessed by many friends and associates. God bless also blessed us with many converts and the hotel allowed us to hold numerous baptism in the pool.
In January 2013, Pastor Edloe was injured in a serious accident. Rev. Rufus Adkins, who was a former patient of Pastor Edloe’s and who Pastor Edloe had assisted him in his ministry during an illness years earlier, guided us during the absence of our pastor (as he recovered)(. He also located the 7,200 sq. ft. building on 10 acres where we are presently located. On March 31, 2013, Resurrection Sunday, the church voted to purchase the property and on June 1, 2013, we moved into our new home and held our first service in our new location on June 2, 2013.
We are non-denominational with Baptist tendencies. We are affiliated with the Mid-Tidewater Baptist Association.
We are a fellowship with members of all ages, plenty of children, and would love to share the love we have of God with you.
Our Vision
To be a thriving fellowship ministering to all of God’s people in Spirit and in Truth.
